Last week, we broke ground on something so much bigger than just new construction, we broke ground on transformation, opportunity, and purpose at 405 Cooper Street in the heart of Mechanicsville, right here in District 4.
What once was a long-vacant, blighted lot is now the site of real community promise. Through a no-cost land swap between Fulton County and the Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority, we’ve shown what happens when government leads with vision and partnership.
This project ensures Mechanicsville doesn’t just grow—it grows inclusively. It creates space for families, young professionals, and longtime residents to plant roots and stay connected to the place they call home.
