Attention Gwinnett County residents! As summer approaches, it's essential to prioritize water safety. In recognition of May as Water Safety Month, Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson and the Board of Commissioners are committed to raising awareness about the importance of staying safe in and around water. Drowning is a leading cause of preventable death among children, and it poses a significant risk for teens as well. Thankfully, the dedicated teams at Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, Gwinnett Parks and Recreation, and the YMCA of Metro Atlanta are actively working to equip the community with vital knowledge and skills to ensure safety during aquatic activities. Join them in fostering a culture of water safety, so everyone in Gwinnett can enjoy pools, lakes, and splash pads with confidence.
