Check out the highlights from our latest Braiding Workshop hosted by the SKYE Program! Our teens are learning more than just styling, they’re gaining fun, hands-on life skills that build confidence, creativity, and connection. Who knows where these skills could lead, maybe a future business, a new passion, or helping someone else feel their best. We’re so proud to offer opportunities like this to empower our youth. 💛 Stay tuned for more SKYE events and upcoming braiding workshops! Big thanks to @thebraidschoolco for her exceptional insights and making this happen! Her class is one of a kind.

The Atlanta Chapter of the Urban League gave deserving young people awards for their achievements, recognized several community impact agents for their outstanding work to improve the lives of those they serve and spoke about the Atlanta Chapter’s upcoming Social Justice initiatives. Solicitor-General Keith E. Gammage and the entire office was represented and had a strong presence at this event. The Atlanta Chapter’s Board and Chapter CEO, Nancy Flake Johnson were very grateful for our presence and support. The work of Restorative Justice we do and the partnerships with community agencies with shared vision is a righteous work and makes the lives of all the people of Fulton County better.
A time was had last week last week at our annual Gwinnett County Employee Family Fun Fest! 💙 What a joy it was to spend time with our incredible employees. This event reminded me just how special our team truly is—not just in the important work you do each day, but in the spirit, warmth, and community you bring wherever you go. It was such a pleasure getting to know so many of you (and your beautiful families!) outside of our daily roles. From the laughter to the games to the shared stories—it was a day full of heart. Thank you for making Gwinnett County the extraordinary place it is. I’m so grateful to serve alongside each of you.

I was proud to join the Latin American Association in celebrating the grand reopening of the LAA Gwinnett Outreach Center in unincorporated Norcross, formerly the Resting Spot. This center, in partnership with Hope, Thrive, Support (HTS) is a vital step toward ensuring every resident in Gwinnett has a safe place to call home. Thanks to a $1M+ investment by the Board of Commissioners, this center will offer shelter, rental assistance, legal aid, and other critical services to families facing housing insecurity. We’re building a stronger Gwinnett through compassion and community-driven solutions.
