The Public Works Department officially broke ground on a new state-of-the-art Transfer Station and Recycling Center at the Douglas County landfill, designed to enhance waste disposal and recycling services for residents. This facility, funded by the 2022 SPLOST, will replace the previous station that was tragically lost to fire in October 2023.
