These terms govern your use of gabcoonline.org, GABCO membership, sponsorship, donations, event participation, and the SMS messaging program operated by the Georgia Association of Black County Officials. By using our services or opting into our text messages, you agree to these terms.
By accessing or using gabcoonline.org (the "Site"), becoming a GABCO member or sponsor, donating, registering for an event, or opting into SMS messages from GABCO, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or opt into our messages.
"We," "us," "GABCO," and "the Association" refer to the Georgia Association of Black County Officials, a statewide professional association of Black county officials headquartered at 2200 Fairburn Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30331.
Permitted use: You may view content, apply for membership, register for events, donate, sponsor the Association, opt into text messages, and otherwise engage with GABCO as intended.
Prohibited use: You may not:
Membership: Eligibility, dues, benefits, and member conduct expectations are governed by the membership agreement provided at the time of application and any bylaws adopted by the Association. Membership may be terminated for non-payment of dues, conduct contrary to the mission of GABCO, or other reasons specified in the bylaws.
Sponsorship: Sponsors agree to the terms set out in their sponsorship agreement, including the level of support, recognition provided, and the term of the sponsorship period.
Donations: All donations to GABCO are voluntary. Donations are processed through third-party payment processors. Donation receipts are issued by email. Donations are generally non-refundable. Refund inquiries should be directed to admin@gabcoonline.org.
Registration for GABCO events (Annual Meeting, training summits, forums, member gatherings) constitutes agreement to follow the event code of conduct and any specific terms communicated at registration.
Cancellations & refunds: Event registration refund policies are stated at the time of registration. GABCO reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events; in such cases, registrants will be notified and refund options offered as applicable.
Photo & video: By attending a GABCO event, you grant the Association permission to capture and use photographs and video of the event, including your image, for promotional and reporting purposes.
By opting in to receive text messages from GABCO — through the opt-in form, a membership application with SMS consent, or written consent — you agree to the following:
Consent: You confirm you are the authorized owner or user of the mobile number you provide.
Frequency: Up to 6 messages per month covering advocacy alerts, event reminders, annual meeting updates, and member announcements.
Carrier rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. GABCO does not charge for messages; your carrier may.
Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to be removed from the SMS list immediately. Reply HELP for assistance.
Supported carriers: All major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and most regional carriers. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Carrier participation is voluntary; we cannot guarantee message delivery.
Privacy: Mobile numbers and SMS consent records are NEVER sold, shared, rented, or transferred to third parties for marketing. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
If you submit content to GABCO (testimonials, member submissions, comments, photos, social media posts tagging the Association), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content for the Association's promotional, reporting, and operational purposes. You represent that you own or have permission to share any content you submit.
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, code, the "GABCO" name, "Georgia Association of Black County Officials" name, and any associated marks — is the property of the Association or its licensors and is protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
The Site and SMS program are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses. SMS delivery is not guaranteed and depends on carrier networks.
Information on the Site is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Georgia Association of Black County Officials, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, members, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Site, membership, sponsorship, events, or SMS program, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, business, or other intangibles.
Aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms, the Site, or the SMS program shall not exceed the amount you paid to GABCO in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GABCO and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, members, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your use of the Site, or your violation of any rights of any third party.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site or SMS program after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
